‘Crockery’ Black Basalt – Mug

£ 36.85
by 1882

After 18 months of development, ‘Crockery’ has been remastered in black basalt.  1882 Ltd’s interpretation is equal in richness to the red-brown black developed by Josiah Wedgwood in 1766.

‘Crockery’ is a family of tableware cast in fine black basalt from plaster models that designer Max Lamb has carved by hand.  Using the tools of a stone mason, Lamb chips and carves solid blocks of plaster to make this series, the design of each piece formed quite simply out of their own making.

This stoneware mug has a glazed interior for functionality while the raw exterior reflects the modest surface texture of the plaster original.

Black stoneware, biscuit exterior, glazed interior.  Microwave safe.

Dimensions: Diameter 6 cms x H 9 cms
